Intensive Mobile Youth Outreach Service
The Intensive Mobile Youth Outreach Service (IMYOS) works with young people who find it difficult to engage in office based treatment, who have complex mental health needs and are considered to be high risk. IMYOS sees the young person in their homes or in other places where they might feel comfortable during normal business hours. IMYOS works with the young person and usually their family and/or others who support them.

- Case management
- Home visits
- Assessment of mental state and risk
- Specialised treatments, including psychological and medication
- Neuropsychological and occupational therapy interventions
- Referral and liaison with other community agencies (eg. employment services)
- Regular contact and support of families and carers
- Educating the young person and family about the illness
- Supporting the young person during their recovery
Treatment Goals
- Developing a plan for maintaining mental health
- Linking the young person into mainstream support services over time
- Early identification and treatment of primary symptoms of the illness
- Reducing frequency and severity of symptoms
- Improving health and wellbeing and therefore improving social and vocational functioning
- Promoting wellbeing among family members and carers
